ASSISTANT PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Location: Brooklyn, NY
 
This is a unique opportunity to join the most innovative and creative vertical retailer in New York City.

our team. The Assistant Production Coordinator actively participates as a member of the Global Production Team.
 
The Production team is responsible for the execution and communication of a global development and
 
production strategy for a department that supports Design's vision and meets or exceeds the company's
 
financial goals. He/She is led by the Production Manager and coordinates and drives the activities of a
 
pre-production and in-season production process. He/ She also works closely with the Merchandising &
 
Visual team, E-Commerce, Distribution, and Finance teams to support the seasonal product strategies.
 
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to own one's business and work in a team environment a must. 
 
This is a position for a candidate who is looking to start a career in production. 1-2 years of experience is
 
the maximum that we are seeking for this position. $30-35K. This is not for the tenured production
 
coordinator or manager.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Development and Coordination-
 
• Develop and execute samples in partnership with the Production Manager, Design and Merchandising teams
 
• Drive sampling time and action calendar to meet all department milestone dates
 
• Attend fittings to ensure all teams are adhering to the production calendar; and discuss cost and leadtime changes with Production Manager
 
• Ensure accuracy of tech packs and sample tracking reports
 
• Monitor on-time delivery of all development samples, lab dips, trims, and wash submits
 
• Request seasonal costing for review with Production Director and Manager to facilitate cost negotiations
 
• Maintain and distribute seasonal costing, and tracking reports to department managers and cross functional teams
 
• Partner with Production Manager to confirm placement plan with sourcing channels/ vendors
 
• Issue orders to vendors while monitoring the receipt and accuracy of POs and pro-forma invoices
 
• Track all production orders ensuring on time shipping
 
 
Financial Management
 
• Work closely with Production Manager to utilize history and current cost negotiations to meet company cost/ margin goals 
 
• Drive to fabric development cost parameters with internal & external teams to achieve fabric cost targets
 
• Follow up with sourcing channels and advise seasonal style cost targets to achieve IMU goals
 
• Gather information on liabilities and present solutions to Manager
 
 
Requirements
 
• College degree 
 
• 1-2 year production or internship experience preferred
 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with vendors and internal teams is required
 
• Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills are required
 
• Flexible, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines
 
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook

FLOOR SUPERVISOR

Objective: This position is a preparatory position for an individual seeking growth and commitment within the Brooklyn Industries retail community. A Floor Supervisor will hold a certain level of responsibility along with a high level of accountability.

Expectations:

The duties of a Floor Supervisor will educate and prepare one for potential advancement in the company. The expectations are outlined as follows:

? Expected to be on-time, especially when opening the store.

? Will be an acting Supervisor, at all times, regardless of the Store Manager/Assistant Manager being present on the premises. 

? Set a good example for associates and maintain store manager standards.

? Required to fill out the “daily goal sheet” at the start of a morning shift when the manager is not present. 

? Expected to delegate shift specific tasks to the staff, when the Store Manager/Assistant Manager is not present.

? Expected to motivate the staff to achieve daily goals and complete projects when a manager is not present. 

? Assist in training and monitoring new employees.

? Be knowledgeable of and able to enforce company policies 

? Responsible for taking charge of customer service issues, regardless if the Store/Assistant manager present. 

? Accountable for maintaining the store standards at all times. Must enforce current, changing, or new standards.

? Possibility of supervising from open to close without Store Manager/Assistant Manager. 

? Accountable for any theft (internal or external) that occurs while supervising. Floor Supervisor will be expected to uphold the security standards of their store. 

? Required to have open communication with the rest of the management team. Must consistently provide information on staff and store operations.

? Ability to close-out the register and be accountable for the closing responsibilities. 

? Will be encouraged to learn more to achieve a higher role of responsibility.

? Work a minimum of 30 hours.
