Written by FlabbergastedPosted on 10/07/2013 at 12:44:22 PMI spotted this coat from across the store yesterday. The picture doesn't do it justice -- the hood is big enough that when folded down properly it looks like a really vampyr fairytale cowl, and honestly that's what sold me. I tried it on and it fit perfectly (true to size, maybe even a tad big, but I live in the New York and need room for layers). I dreamed of all the winter nights I'd spend strolling the city in it, protected from snow but amazingly stylish. Eventually I put my hands in the pockets to see how deep they were, and although they were oddly place near the zipper I didn't really think anything of it until I tried to use them. Ladies, these pockets are ridiculously nonfunctional. The left pocket is only moderately sized, which I could put up with, but because the right pocket is so close to the zipper the pocket is HALF the depth of the other one. I couldn't even fit all my fingers, no way would they be functional for winter. I have no idea how this slipped by the designers. Why couldn't they put the pockets on the sides? Why would they design a coat with only ONE AND A HALF POCKETS? What were they thinking?! My sparkly snowglobe dreams came screeching to a halt, and when an employee walked by me right as I made my devastating discovery she said, "Oh, did you just find the pockets? Yeah, we're all pretty upset about those." I've been dreaming about this coat for 24 hours now and I'm still not over it. I want this piece for my wardrobe so badly, but there's no way I'm purchasing it with those pockets. This review is my attempt to clue them in on their insanity. This is a $200 coat, let's remember that. $200 coats need real pockets.
