Details include over sized hip pockets, zippered chest and right arm pocket and drawstring hood with plaid lining. Fully lined in quilted flannel for added warmth.

Care Instructions: Brush off mud when dry, sponge with cold water if needed, use only British Millerain wax dressing, do not use soap or solvents.


“Long ago, sailors devised a technique of applying linseed oil to their canvas smocks to protect them from the elements while out at sea. The oil treatment on their smocks repelled water and kept them warm, even during harsh, high winds.  

 

In 1880, The British Millerain Co. Ltd. began producing such oil-treated fabric in great quantities, offering the durable wind- and waterproof-fabric to the public, as well as the British Military. British Millerain has continued to produce and treat fabrics in the same way for 130 years.

The exterior British Millerain fabrics for both the Amelia Waxed Canvas Jacket and the Chapman Waxed Canvas Jacket have a stiffer and sometimes stickier feel than other apparel fabrics due to its oiled coating. But the added warmth and worn-in look are unbeatable. The waxed canvas naturally creases and ages differently to each wearer, making each jacket one-of-a-kind. Plus, the jackets can be re-waxed with specified coating solvents to extend the life of the garment.”
